Healing Touch is an energy therapy where practitioners use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional manner to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and healing.

Healing Touch is a complementary (or integrative) energy therapy that can be used in conjunction with conventional therapies.  Healing Touch utilizes the hands to clear and energize the human energy systems allowing balance and harmony to be restored to the mind, body and spirit.  This modality increases wellness by providing the body an opportunity to heal itself.
 

About Suzanne

I have over twenty years’ teaching experience. I have taught in wellness, management, marketing, scientific research and scuba diving. I have been a PADI Instructor (OWSI) for U.C.S.D. Recreation since 1994 certifying over 243 scuba divers. Teaching allows me to deepen my knowledge and share my passion with others.

In 2011, I became a certified Healing Touch Instructor. Offering Healing Touch to clients and students allows me to share my insight and experience helping others find a balanced path to health and healing.

 

Healing Touch Certified Practitioner: I became a certified Healing Touch practitioner with Healing Beyond Borders* in 2008. This involved 18 months of study and completion of five class levels (102.5 CEUs). Certification requires a one year mentorship with a nurse; as well as 150 hours of documented HT sessions and 100 hours of study. Many consider the work to be a master’s equivalency. Once a practitioner is given certification they are responsible for maintaining ongoing training and recertification every five years.

Healing Touch Certified Instructor: In 2011, I earned instructor certification with Healing Beyond Borders*. Instructor Training requires an additional 36 Continuing Education Units and another minimum one year mentorship with a nurse. As part of my training, I observed four classes, co-taught three classes and taught the 18 hour class while being evaluated by a nurse mentor. Topics of study during the year included: anatomy and physiology, learning and teaching styles for the adult learner; as well as psychology and ethics. Instructor status is gained only after meeting requirements as evaluated by the nursing instructor review board.

Instructor:

Suzanne Weeks, CHTP/I is a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, Level One Instructor who began her training in San Diego at Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine. She has a Bachelor’s degree from U.C.S.D. in Microbiology and works in food safety. She pursues health and fitness in her own life, drawing from extensive training in coaching, health and nutrition. Suzanne’s personal experience helped her realize how important the mind-body connection is to complete wellness and her own self-care. Suzanne also teaches Scuba Diving for U.C.S.D. for the past 20 years in La Jolla.
